In yet another bone-chilling incident of stray dog attacks, a 9-year-old boy was injured in Karnataka's Kolar district on Friday. The incident took place at 4 am when the boy, identified as Babu, was going to offer namaz prayers at the local masjid.

He sustained severe injuries on his face, hands and abdomen. A police constable noticed the boy's condition and took him to the RL Jalappa Medical College where he is currently undergoing treatment.

The incidents of animal attacks have been on the rise in recent times. Earlier, a one-year-old baby was attacked by a street dog in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad. The injured girl received 60 stitches as her injuries were severe.

According to the media reports, a dog bit her when she was playing outside her residence in Behrampur in the Vijayanagar police station. The dog attacked her in the face.

Her parents took her to District MMG Hospital in Ghaziabad but seeing her severe wounds, the hospital referred her to Noida Trauma Centre Child Hospital where she received the treatment.

A similar situation was avoided after a woman managed to save her and her pet's life after a pack of dogs attacked her inside a Noida society. The menace of stray dogs has been a raging issue for the civic authorities for quite some time.

Meanwhile, a 14-year-old boy was injured in a stray dog attack in southwest Delhi's Rangpuri area. The incident took place on Monday (April 17) morning when the boy, a resident of Rangpuri, had gone out to answer nature's call, a senior police officer said.
