On Raj Kapoor’s 94th birth anniversary, Anil Kapoor shares heartfelt video of the legendary actor

Known for his iconic Bollywood movies like Awaara, Shree 420, Mera Naam Joker and others, legendary actor Raj Kapoor was synonymous to brilliance, dynamic persona and a powerhouse of talent. He had the ability to not just bring life to his every character onscreen but win millions of hearts with his real-life personality as well. There is no denying that he was the most loved actor in Bollywood and even till date he is remembered in every heart whenever one talks about Bollywood or the celebrities. He took Indian cinema to another level with his charisma and the ability to bring smile on every face. On the actor’s 94th birth anniversary, handsome hunk Anil Kapoor shared a heartfelt video of him in which he is seen talking about his films and personal life.

Taking to his Instagram, Anil Kapoor shared the video of an old interview of Raj Kapoor and remembered how he and his adorable wife Krishna Raj Kapoor used to make every moment a memory. He captioned the post saying, “They say you don’t cherish a moment until it becomes a memory. Today on Raj Uncle’s birth anniversary, I can recall so many such moments... Krishna Raj Kapoor according to me is the best hostess of our industry... she always celebrated this day with so much love, style & grace. Some of the best days of my life were in Deonar Chembur with them. Really miss those days and both of them...”

This is no news that Raj Kapoor was the original showman of Hindi cinema. His first film was Inquilaab, at the age of 11, and his first lead was opposite Madhubala in Neel Kamal. After that, there was no looking back for him. With every year in Bollywood, he gave his fans many iconic characters and made sure that his magic never leaves their souls.

While Raj Kapoor is known to have many rumoured relationships in the industry, he married Krishna Raj Kapoor, daughter of his father's maternal uncle and according to his daughter remained faithful to her throughout his life. Rishi Kapoor in his book ‘Khullam Khulla’ also opened up about his father Raj Kapoor’s extramarital affairs and said that he was involved with Bollywood actresses Nargis and Vyjayanthimala which forced his mother to stay away from him. She came back only when Raj Kapoor closed that chapter of his life.

On the other hand, speaking about her parent’s relationship, Rima Jain once shared in an interview with Filmfare, “No matter what was said and written, Papa loved mother deeply. The truth is that all life he remained obsessed with her. He may not have expressed it to her the way she’d have liked him to. She may not have been a big part of his life. But whatever Raj Kapoor did, he came back home. His love for her was immense. He’d even press her legs and joke, ‘Raj Kapoor ka kya haal bana diya! Meri biwi mujhe pair dabane lagaa rahi hai. Ghar ki murgi dal barabar!’ He loved celebrating New Years because it also happened to be mom’s birthday.”

Together they have 5 children- Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor and two daughters Ritu Nanda and Rima Jain.
