Veteran Bollywood actress and a Samajwadi Party MP from Uttar Pradesh could be India’s richest Member of Parliament with declared assets of worth Rs 1,000 crore. Having declared this, she has surpassed BJP Rajya Sabha MP Ravindra Kishore Sinha who declared his assets worth Rs 800 crore in 2014. As per TOI reports, the Abhimaan actress could be the richest MP in the country.
Jaya Bachchan recently filed her nomination as an SP candidate for the Rajya Sabha polls. She declared her assets which she jointly owns with her husband and Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan. As per her affidavit, Jaya and her husband have immovable assets worth Rs 460 crore, which doubled from Rs 152 crore they owned in 2012. The net worth of their immovable assets also augmented from Rs 343 crore in 2012 to Rs 540 crore.
According to the affidavit, Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan are owners of gold and jewellery worth over Rs 62 crore. Amitabh owns jewellery costing more than Rs 36 crore. They have 12 vehicles including luxury brands Rolls Royce, Mercedes, Porsche and Range Rover. They altogether amount to Rs 13 crore. Amitabh Bachchan also owns a Tata Nano and a tractor.
Lover of watches, Amitabh Bachchan and his wife Jaya own watches with a net worth of Rs 3.4 crore and 51 lakh respectively. Big B owns a pen which costs Rs 9 lakh. The Bachchans are also the owners of a 3,175 sq m residential property in Brignogan Plage in France apart from properties in Noida, Bhopal, Pune, Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.
Jaya Bachchan also owns a 1.22 hectare of agricultural land worth Rs 2.2 crore in Kakori, Lucknow. Amitabh owns a 3 acre plot worth Rs 5.7 crore in Daulatput area of Barabanki.
