New Delhi: Dance and music are integral part of Bollywood films. Songs have always played a very important part in story-telling and depiction of emotions in Indian films.There are hundreds of films released in our Indian film industry and around thousand of songs every year. But very few actually succeed in cracking its way to our playlist. Among the numerous numbers of songs, few of them stay in our hearts.The year 2014 was also flooded with songs but there are few that will be played again and again. Whenever we would listen to these songs in the future, it will remind us of the wonderful musical year we had.Here are few of the songs of this year that everybody loved:India Waale (Happy New Year)This year's Diwali release Happy New Year cracked many box office records. The film starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles had beautiful musical numbers specially ‘India Waale.' Lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil were composed into song by Vishal-Shekhar. Vishal, KK, Shankar Mhadevan and Neeti Mohan brought life to the song with their voices.Jumme Ki Raat (Kick)Salman Khan's this year's Eid treat for his fans was his film Kick. The film broke and made multiple box office records. Himesh Reshammiya composed music for the film and it contributed hugely in the success of the film. The song ‘Jumme Ki Raat' made stayed on top of the list of all music stations for several weeks. Penned down by Kumaar, the song was voiced by Mika Singh and Palak Muchhal.Char Kadam (PK)One of the most awaited movies of the year PK will release on December 19. But its songs including Char Kadam is on everyone's lips. Lyrics written by Swanand Kirkire are sung by Shaan and Shreya Ghoshal. The music is composed by Shantanu Moitra. The song is filmed on Anushka Sharma and Sushant Singh Rajput.Tu Meri (Bang Bang!)Bang Bang was one of the highest grossers of the year that starred Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif in leading roles. The music composed by Vishal-Shekhar was also one of the best of the year. Apart for composing the music Vishal Dadlani also penned and vocalised the song.Bismil (Haider)Haider is one of the most critically appreciated movies of this year. The film did not break any record at the box office but it earned audience's praise and was declared a hit. Even the film's music, composed by Vishal Bhardwaj, was highly appreciated. Once again Gulzar saab and Bhardwaj collaborated to bring out some extraordinary music. It's really hard to choose the best one but Bismil is probably the most likened song of the album. Brought alive by Sukhwinder Singh's virile voice Shahid Kapoor gave a spectacular dance performance on the song.Mast Magan (2 States)Based on Chetan Bhagat's novel by the same name, the film starring Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt was a great success. The romantic love story of a North Indian middle class guy and a Tamil Brahmin girl was brought alive by the music of Shankar-Ehsan-Loy. Mast Magan, sung by Arijit Singh and Chinmayi Sripada the song was arguably the best song of the album. Amitabh Bhattacharya wrote lyrics for the songs.Patakha Guddi (Highway)Music for Imtiaz Ali's Highway was composed by Academy Award winner maestro A.R. Rahman. After the success of ‘Rockstar,' lyricist Irshad Kamil collaborated with Ali and Rahman second time. All the songs were great but most people would choose Patakha Guddi as their favourite. Nooran sisters Jyoti and Sultana gave life to the beautiful melody by their off-beat voices.Baarish (Yaariyan)Comprising a comparatively unknown cast the film made big at the box office and its song contributed hugely in success. Five musicians came together to compose music for the film. The musical number created by Mithoon titled ‘Baarish' was probably the best one of the album. The words of Mithoon were voiced by Mohammed Irfan and Gajendra Verma.Samjhawan (Humty Sharma Ki Dulhania)Humpty Sharma Ki Duhania starred Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. The music for the film was provided by Sachin-Jigar and Sharib-Toshi, Jawad Ahmed. The musical number Samjhawan, composed by Sharib-Toshi and Jawad Ahmed was the most liked of the album. The lyrics written by Ahmed Anees and Kumaar were sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal.London Thumakda (Queen)The film starring Kangna Ranaut was an underdog before the release but became a huge success after its release. Music played a huge role in its success. London Thumakda became one of the most popular songs of the year. Lyrics written by Anvita Dutt were composed by Amit Trivedi. The song was voiced by Labh Januja, Sonu Kakkar and Neha Kakkar.Aaj Phir Tumpe (Hate Story 2)The sequel to the 2012 hit Hate Story the film did not do well at the box office but its songs were loved unanimously. Aaj Phir Tumpe is definitely one of the best songs of the year and there is probably no one who would argue on that. On the vocals of Arijit Singh and Samira Koppikar the music was provided by Arko Pravo Mukherjee. The song's lyrics were written by Aziz Qaisi for the song in 1988 film ‘Dayavan.'
