New Delhi: Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor's magic is on at box office as their flick ‘2 States' has become the third fastest flick to cross the Rs 50 cr mark in five days after Jai Ho and Gunday.
The flick after a brilliant weekend collecting Rs 38.26 cr, kept the cash register ringing at box office in busy weekdays.
Though, on Monday, the slice-of-love story witnessed more than a 50% drop in comparison to Sunday and made Rs 6.17 cr, on Tuesday, it had a further drop in its collection, and went on to garner Rs 5.80 cr in India.
“#2States Fri 12.42 cr, Sat 12.13 cr, Sun 13.51 cr, Mon 6.17 cr. Total: Rs 44.23 cr nett. India biz. Very Good!”, tweets trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh.
Other flicks which have crossed the Rs 50 cr mark earlier this year are Queen, Ragini MMS 2 and Main Tera Hero. 2 States is expected to earn Rs 8 to Rs 10 cr more before new releases hits theatres to make a week's collection of around Rs 60 cr.
Moreover, if it carries the similar momentum, the flick is expected to hit the ton and become one of the biggest grossers of the year. But we have to wait and watch for it.
