Thugs of Hindostan Box Office Collection Day 7: Big B, Aamir Khan’s film declines further, earns 132.35 cr

The multi-starrer Bollywood film Thugs of Hindostan is witnessing decline in its box-office number with each passing day. The Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan starrer period drama earned Rs 3.50 crore on Wednesday taking the total to Rs 132.35 crore in seven days.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared latest Thugs of Hindostan Box Office Collection on social media. “#ThugsOfHindostan - #Hindi: Thu 50.75 cr, Fri 28.25 cr, Sat 22.75 cr, Sun 17.25 cr, Mon 5.50 cr, Tue 4.35 cr, Wed 3.50 cr.  “#ThugsOfHindostan decline in biz...Fri [vis-à-vis Thu]: 44.33% Sat [vis-à-vis Fri]: 19.47% Sun [vis-à-vis Sat]: 24.18% Mon [vis-à-vis Sun]: 68.12% Tue [vis-à-vis Mon]: 20.91% Wed [vis-à-vis Tue]: 19.54%Hindi version. India biz”, Taran Adarsh further added.

Several shows of the film were cancelled on Tuesday due to no audience and the trend continued on Wednesday as bad word of mouth and poor reviews have made viewers think twice before spending money on the film.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan defended Thugs of Hindostan and said, “"A film can be good, a film can be bad; none of us can ever claim ki maine duniya ki sabsi achch i film banayi hain. Mr Bachchan and Aamir have been people who have constantly contributed to the excellence of cinema. The greatest contribution to Hindi cinema in the last 10 years has been from Aamir, and with Amitji, it’s been even longer. Now if a film of theirs (Thugs of Hindostan) doesn’t reach the level that you expected it to, does it take away from what they have done for cinema?"’

The Aditya Chopra produced mega-budget movie released in record number of theatres (5,000 screens) amid huge hype, expectations and promotion. Massive advance booking helped it get an earth-shattering response at the ticket counters. Thugs of Hindustan collected over Rs 50 crore net at the Indian box office on the first day and become the biggest opener of 2018.
