Sridevi’s sudden demise has taken the Bollywood fraternity by utter shock and dismay. Several celebrities are reaching at Anil Kapoor’s residence in Mumbai to pay their last homage to the actress. Now, Padmavat stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh arrived at Anil Kapoor’s house to offer condolences to the Kapoor family. Sridevi died of accidental drowning in the bathtub of her Dubal hotel room on Saturday at 11 pm. The Dubai Police, on its official Twitter handle, said that they have transferred the case to the "Dubai Public Prosecution" which will carry out regular legal procedures followed in such cases.
Ranveer and Deepika were spotted outside the Kapoor residence. The duo arrived in the same car.
The post-mortem report of Sridevi’s body does not mention the phrase cardiac arrest, which was earlier blamed for her sudden death that has left India stunned.
The Dubai Police is trying to establish the sequence of events before and after she was found unconscious. When she was taken to the al Rashid Hospital, she was dead. Reports say police may question Boney Kapoor, Sridevi's husband, who was the last person to see her alive.
A report contradicted that and said that members of service staff at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel discovered her after she did not answer the doorbell. The report quoted a hotel employee as saying that they were the ones who broke open the door of her bathroom and found her lying unconscious on the floor.
Sridevi is survived by her 62-year-old husband and two daughters Jhanvi and Khushi Kapoor.
