Actress Richa Chadha on Wednesday started shooting here for Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's "Panga", based on kabaddi. This is the first time that Richa has collaborated with "Bareilly Ki Barfi" director Ashiwiny Tiwari. It also stars Kangana Ranaut and Pankaj Tripathi.
"Panga" is Richa and Pankaj's eight film together. They had starred in movies like "Gangs of Wasseypur" and "Masaan".
"I'm excited to be joining the team... 'Panga' is a very exciting project for me as it's unlike anything I have done before. I have personally always wanted to be a part of a sports film," Richa said in a statement.
"Ashwiny and Nitesh (Tiwari) have written a very special film and I'm glad to be on board and begin filming in Bhopal," she added.
The hitmaker of Bollywood, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari is ready to treat the audience with another power-packed project called Panga. The filmmaker has already roped in Bollywood Queen Kangana Ranaut for the film and On Tuesday morning announced it officially with a quirky video.
The movie is reportedly a family entertainer and going by the theme, the makers released a video that outlines the different phases family members go through. As the video starts, it reads a statement by the director herself as she reveals that she is ready to take up challenges and follow her passion because her family is rooting for her every day. The movies stars Kangana Ranaut, Jassie Gill and Neena Gupta in pivotal roles. Even the video that has surfaced the internet has a collage of some pictures from the actual family albums of Kangana, Jassi, Neena, and Ashwini portraying the theme of their film that when your family stands behind you, no one in the world can take panga with you.
