India is experiencing the latest of its awakening in the form of #MeToo movement. The movement, which was intended to bring as many survivors to speak up about their sexual harassment episode, was kickstarted in the West when many Hollywood actresses spoke up against Harvey Weinstein accusing him of sexual harassment and even rape. The Indian version of the movement started when Tanushree Dutta reiterated her sexual harassment experience on the sets of a film from 2008. She accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of touching her inappropriately. To our surprise, many Bollywood celebrities stood in solidarity with her and some even opened up on their own unpleasant episodes in the industry.
Many big names of Bollywood including veteran actor Alok Nath were dragged into the controversies regarding separate sexual harassment incidents. Amid this revolution, an old video of Bollywood actress Tisca Chopra went viral on the internet. The video is from a Storyteller session, where the Taare Zameen Par actress went candid about her own unpleasant ‘casting couch’ incident.
While narrating the incident, she refers to the man in question by the name ‘Reptile’ and ‘RP’. She goes on telling how the film director called her up to her hotel room in pretext of discussing script and how she managed to escape his evil plans. According to Chopra, the director was already infamous in the industry for harassing actresses of his films. He was allegedly known for harassing every actress he has worked with.
Tisca Chopra also talked about the married actor of the film, who was taking keen interest in her makeup artist, who were doing her best to avoid him.
While Tisca Chopra has not named anyone in her video, Twitterverse does the guess work. Many users suggested that she was talking about Rakesh Roshan as Reptile Director and Anil Kapoor is the married actor who was trying to woo the makeup artist. However, nothing can be said as yet since Tisca has not named anyone till now.
