Actress Deepika Padukone’s maternal grandfather Jayant Karkal took his last breath on January 30. The actress didn’t show her grief publicly through her post on social media and is currently spending time with her family.
If reports are to be believed then the lady has taken off from the work of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial venture ‘Padmavati’.
Deepika’s mother Ujjala lived in Mumbai and her grandfather resided on Peddar Road.
The actress will return to work after the period of grief is over.
Deepika who is quite active on social media previously showed her disappointment after the activists attacked Bhansali on the sets of period drama ‘Padmavati’ alleging distortion of historical facts. She assured people that there was nothing as such in ‘Padmavati’.
After that, she was not seen active on social media.
Previously, Deepika celebrated her New Year with her grandparents and said that she wanted to spend some more time with them.
The actress was last seen in ‘xXx Return of Xander Cage’ opposite Vin Diesel. She will next be seen playing the lead in ‘Padmavati’ alongside Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.
