Priya Prakash Varrier has been through a number of legal notices ever since she has rose to fame with her song Oru Adaar Love. The actress’ upcoming film Sridevi Bungalow has landed in soup after veteran filmmaker Boney Kapoor has slapped a legal notice against the makers for allegedly mocking the legendary actress Sridevi’s death. The film with which Priya Prakash is supposed to make her Bollywood debut has already ruffled some feathers even before its release. The film’s trailer bears an uncanny resemblance to the life of actress Sridevi, who died a shocking death last year in February.
In the film, Priya Prakash Varrier is playing the role of a lonely actress who ultimately dies in a bathtub. The name as well as the death part bears an eerie similarity to Sridevi’s death. This has perturbed the members of Sridevi’s family and the patriarch of the family Boney Kapoor has taken the matters into his own hands.
Mambully confirmed that he received a legal notice from Kapoor. He said, “We received a legal notice from Mr Boney Kapoor last week. And we will face it. My film is a suspense thriller. I told him (Boney Kapoor) that Sridevi is a common name. My film's character also happens to be an actress. We will face it (the legal case)."
On the other hand, Priya Prakash Varrier has not said anything about the controversies surrounding her upcoming film. She refused to contact on the legal notice when a portal tried to dish out a comment from her.
There are rumours that winking sensation Priya Prakash Varrier has been roped in for Karan Johar’s Takht ever since she was spotted with Ranveer Singh and Vicky Kaushal. However, the filmmaker hasn’t confirmed about the same. There were also rumours that Priya will be seen in Rohit Shetty’s Simmba but those rumours came out to be false.
