Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor's Good News release postponed, film to now release in December

Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan's most-anticipated film Good News, which was earlier scheduled to release in September, has now been pushed further to December. The film will now hit the theatres in December when Dabangg 3 and Brahamastra are scheduled to release. The exact reason behind the delay has not been stated yet. Recently, Kareena Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani shot for a special song for the film. The film, produced by Dharma Productions and Cape Of Good Films, was earlier scheduled to release in September.

Akshay announced the new release date on Twitter. "Good News for a good start to the new year! See you on 27th December," he wrote.

Directed by Raj Mehta, the dramedy also features Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani. Earlier, there were reports that Kareena Kapoor Khan has got Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani edited out from the song. Four of the stars already shot for the song, after seeing the rushes, Kareena felt that Kiara and Diljit were not needed in the video. Since Kareena Kapoor Khan shares a close bond with producer Karan Johar, she asked them to scissor the parts where Kiara and Diljit featured. Reportedly the song from which the two young stars have been ousted is Sukhbir's Sauda Khara Khara.

Recently, Akshay Kumar spoke about his experience working with Udta Punjab actor Diljit Dosanjh. He told IANS, "Working with Bebo (Kareena) is always fun but Diljit and I get along like a house on fire, if I were to say so myself. Our Punjabi connect is amazing and I think it will show brilliantly on-screen."
