Karnataka High Court has reportedly set aside media gag order on BJP Bengaluru South candidate Tejasvi Surya. A Division Bench of Acting Chief Justice L Narayana Swamy and Justice PS Dinesh Kumar pronounced the order after reserving it yesterday.

The HC bench set aside the temporary injunction passed on March 29 by a City Civil and Sessions Court retraining newspapers, television channels, and social media platforms from reporting any defamatory statements in any manner again.

The Court reportedly stated that the media is not restrained from publishing content except that which is defamatory in nature. For stories that contain defamatory content, the Court granted Surya permission to approach the Election Commission of India.

Youngest candidate 28-year-old Tejaswi Surya was criticised for his earlier tweets against women and for allegations made by a lady accusing his for sexual harassment.
