Karnataka Assembly Elections: Rahul Gandhi releases Congress manifesto, calls it 'Mann ki Baat' of people of state

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and other senior Congress leaders were also present in Mangaluru on this occasion.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi, who is on his seventh leg of campaigning in Karnataka, today released the party's manifesto for the Assembly polls scheduled to be held across the state on May 12.  Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and other senior Congress leaders were also present in Mangaluru on this occasion. 

Taking a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rahul said that the Congress manifesto was 'Mann ki Baat' of people of Karnataka which was prepared after listening to what they are expecting from the new government.

The Gandhi scion is on a two-day visit to poll-bound Karnataka to campaign for the party candidates in the districts of Uttara Kannada, Dahskina Kannada, Kodagu and Mysuru. 

The southern state is slated to witness a three-corner contest involving the ruling Congress, the BJP and the HD Deve Gowda-led JD(S). The result of the polls will be announced on May 15.

#In a statement, the Congress party said that Gandhi would visit parts of Uttara Kannada like Ankola city, Mastikatte Circle (Kumta), Saraswati Circle (Honnavar) and hold a corner meeting at Bhatkal.

#The Congress president arrived at Hubli airport at around 11.25 am on Thursday on a two-day visit to the poll-bound state to launch the party's campaign for the May 12 legislative Assembly elections in the coastal region.

# A plane carrying Congress president Rahul Gandhi developed a technical snag with the party demanding a probe into the "suspicious and faulty performance" of the aircraft before landing at the airport in north Karnataka. 

#So far, the Congress chief has held six rounds of campaigning in the poll-bound state.
