Padmaavat fever: San Francisco families dress like Rani Padmini to watch the film, book full theatre, see video

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's directorial venture Padmaavat has crossed Rs 100 cr mark at the box office.

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmaavat is not only doing wonders in India but in foreign countries as well. Yes, the craze has hit the foreign territories where Bay families booked the whole theatre to watch the film and all the ladies were dressed as Rani Padmini. The video is doing the rounds on social media in which all the ladies can be seen dancing to the tunes of Ghoomar.

In the film, actress Deepika Padukone was seen doing traditional dance steps on the song.

The movie is doing wonderful business not only in India but also at the international box office. The film has crossed Rs 100 cr mark and the numbers are expected to grow in coming days.  

Padmaavat has been mired in controversies right from the beginning. Various religious groups protested and demanded to stall its release. However, the film finally hit the theatres on January 25. It was scheduled to clash with actor Akshay Kumar starrer Pad Man but after Bhansali requested Khiladi Kumar, the release date of the latter was shifted to February 9.

Apart from Deepika, the film also featured actors Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in pivotal roles. The star cast received positive reviews for its spectacular performance.
