Chennai: Power sector stocks NTPC and Tata Power were among the top gainers on the markets on Thursday morning. At 12:18 pm NTPC led the pack on the NSE as well with gains of 4.02 per cent at 130.70. The stock had closed the previous session at Rs 125.50.
Tata Power was trading at Rs 86.90, up 2.65 per cent. On Thursday, the Sensex and the Nifty erased their initial gains and were trading marginally in the red amid mixed Asian cues.
