New Delhi: The European single currency traded at almost a two-year low against the dollar after Greece's prime minister failed to get his presidential candidate confirmed, triggering an early parliamentary election.

Euro is headed for a sixth month of losses versus the greenback as the European Central Bank boosts stimulus measures to combat deflation risks.

The US dollar is set to gain against all of its 31 major counterparts in 2014 for the first time in data going back to 1989.
