New Delhi: India's largest consumer electronics and mobile phone maker Samsung has the crown for now as the largest seller of smartphones in the domestic market.According to latest findings by International Data Corporation, Samsung strengthened its smartphone market presence in India by scaling up its market share to 32.9 per cent in Q3 from 26 per cent in the second quarter of 2013. During the period under review, Samsung remained the only smartphone vendor in India that registered a positive growth in its market share. Aiming to further consolidate its marketshare, Samsung recently launched mid-range Galaxy Grand 2 phablet in India. Rumours also suggest the handset maker will come out with a brand new Galaxy S smartphone, a device that is currently being dubbed Samsung Galaxy S5. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean skinned with TouchWiz. It has a 1.2 GHz Cortex-A5 quad-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB of ROM (expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card slot). There's a 5MP rear-facing camera with Auto Focus, LED Flash and a VGA quality front-facing camera. The makers have added a 2000mAh battery fitted inside. The phone supports Dual SIM functionality. Connectivity options are pretty much standard: 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and A-GPS, among others. Samsung Galaxy S Duos Samsung's latest budget Android smartphone, the Galaxy S Duos 2, is the successor to the Galaxy S Duos. The Galaxy S Duos 2 comes with a 4-inch WVGA (480x800) TFT display and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor (unspecified chipset). It is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) smartphone and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz UI on top. The Galaxy S Duos 2 sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and also includes a VGA front-facing camera. The smartphone comes with 768MB of RAM and 4GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, EDGE, GPRS and 3G.
