New Delhi: Electronics major Panasonic Corp. has launched a new high-end smartphone, the P81, at Rs 18990.
The device comes with a 5.5-inch screen, which gives a 720p resolution. It comes with 8-core chipset clocked at a speed of 1.7GHz. It runs Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 OS instead of the updated version, though buyers can probably expect a KitKat break in the future.
Octa-core feature allows all eight of the chipset's cores to run simultaneously offering better performance and higher power efficiency for the smartphone.
The handset has only 1 GB of 1GB. There's 8GB of onboard storage as well as a microSD card slot for adding up to 32GB of extra memory in case you fall short of hoarding space.
The P81 also has a 13MP full HD capable autofocus camera and a 2MP front camera for making video calls or clicking selfies. The device gets its juice from a 2,500 mAh battery. It will be available in India from the third week of May. Although the official price of the Panasonic P81 is Rs 18990, you can get it for a discounted price of Rs 17999 from Snapdeal.
