New Delhi: Honda Cars India today launched its new Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV), the Mobilio, at a starting price of Rs 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). While the petrol version ranges from Rs 6.49 lakh to Rs 8.76 lakh, the diesel variants are priced in the range of Rs 7.89 lakh to Rs 10.86 lakh.
To keep the launch price of Mobilio competitive, a localization level of 90 per cent has been achieved, just like Amaze and new City.
Honda Mobilio's deliveries will begin from today. The RS variant will be available from September. The MUV takes on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo, Tata Safari and Mahindra Bolero.
The MPV, which was unveiled at the Auto Expo held in Greater Noida in February this year, has been developed by Honda exclusively for the Asian markets after comprehensive research and customer feedback.

Mobilio will appeal to buyers with larger families, as the vehicle can easily seat up to 7 adults in its cabin designed in a three row configuration. The vehicle measures 4,390 mm in length, 1,680 mm in width, 1,610 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,650 mm. The model has a ground clearance of 189mm.
The Honda Mobilio has borrowed both petrol and diesel engine from the Honda City. The petrol powertrain is capable of 117 bhp peak power and 145 Nm peak torque while the diesel engine belts out 98 bhp peak power and 200 Nm peak torque. In Mobilio, these deliver fuel efficiency of 17.9 kmpl and 24.2 kmpl respectively.
To be offered in a choice of three variants, E, S and V, Mobilio's USP is its exterior design and generous interior space. Mobilio comes with a striking design as it has the shape of a sedan and the fuselage of a urban van. The MUV has a bigger chassis with more seating capacity. Most of these models are designed with foldable rear seats, and the area that is left can be used for extra luggage. According to Honda, the MUV has developed in accordable with Honda's Man Maximum, Machine Minimum philosophy.
Other features on Mobilio include airbags, ABS, steering mounted controls, roof mounted AC mounts for rear passengers, tumble seats in second row for easy access to third row, large windows, bottle holders for all three rows, digital and analogue instrument control, leather seats (optional), first and second row get slide and recline, while third row gets recline, and projector headlamps with LEDs (only with RS).
The diesel variants will be offered with ABS and EBD as standard, whereas the base E Petrol Mobilio will not get these. LED stop lights are also standard across all variants.
