New Delhi: Asus is all set to launch its mid-range smartphones, the ZenFone 2, in India by the last week of April, the company said on Monday.
The device comes in several variants, including one with a 5-inch display and a few with 5.5-inch displays, and with memory up to 4GB of RAM.
The top-end Asus ZenFone 2 model (ZE551ML) with 64GB of built-in storage and 4GB of RAM was also recently revealed by the firm, with a price of TWD 9,990 (roughly Rs. 19,900).
Asus has said that there will be 'no waiting for flash sales or invitations' once its smartphone is out, thus taking a dig at players like Xiaomi, Micromax's Yu and OnePlus.
The handset with its amazing range of specs will be taking on bigwigs like the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Apple's iPhones.
Asus ZenFone 2 comes with a stunning design with a brushed-metal finish and concentric-circle detailing. The handset features a 5.5-inch Full HD and a (1280x1920p) IPS display with a wide 178-degree viewing angle. Asus claims its TruVivid technology enhances display performance because of brighter colors. The display has a narrow 3.3mm bezel, giving ZenFone 2 a 72 per cent screen-to-body ratio, and is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The smartphone is powered by an up to 2.3GHz 64-bit Intel Atom quad-core processor Z3580 and has 4GB RAM to deliver up to seven times faster gaming performance than its predecessor.
The device offers 4G/LTE connectivity for faster data speeds of up to 150Mbit/s in addition to 802.11ac Wi-Fi high-speed Wi-Fi. It is a dual-SIM device that allows users to have two active phone lines on their device. It will be available in 16, 32 and 64GB storage variants.
It runs the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, and apart from a 13MP rear camera, even offers a 5MP selfie snapper.
According to Asus, its 3000mAh battery provides more than enough power to get through the day, and it also features fast-charge technology for dramatically-reduced recharge times.
ZenFone 2 will come in Osmium Black, Sheer Gold, Glacier Gray, Glamor Red and Ceramic White colours.
