New Delhi: Samsung is all set to launch the next Galaxy Note. The South Korean tech giant will be holding its Galaxy Unpacked 2016 event in August to unveil the Galaxy Note 7 with curved edge display.

According to all the leaks and rumours by Sammobile, which is known for its Samsung leaks, the Galaxy Unpacked 2016 event will be held on August 2 at the Lincoln Center in New York. Sammobile has shared images that provide details of the event. “The next edge is just around the corner,” says the image of the invite.

The image further tells that the phablet will be called the Galaxy Note 7. This numbering is presumably done to avoid confusion, and maintain uniformity with its flagship Galaxy S series.

Previous speculations said that the company will not be using “Note 6” name for the successor of Galaxy Note 5. The Galaxy S series smartphones were launched as Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. So in order to keep the same numbering as Galaxy S series smartphones, the upcoming phablet will be launches as the “Note 7.”

The Galaxy Note 7  is expected to come with a 5.8-inch QHD display, a Snapdragon 820 or Snapdragon 823 SoC paired with 10nm 6GB of RAM module. It is likely to come with 32GB inbuilt storage that can be expanded via microSD card. It will also sport a 12-megapixel rear camera and a Dual Pixel setup in the front. Also, the Galaxy Note 7 is expected to feature an iris scanner, a fingerprint sensor, and a USB Type-C port.
