New Delhi: iPhone (iPhone 8) will be seeing a major redesign in 2017, claims most reliable analyst KGI’s Ming-Chi Kuo.

According to a report by 9to5Mac, Apple will move to an all-glass enclosure, dropping aluminium completely as it will no longer appear modern or fresh next year. The new “glass phone” will include an AMOLED display panel, which is said to be lighter and thinner, so that it could balance the slight weight increase of glass compared with metal exteriors.

Also, reports indicate that Apple may want to stick to the same design and form factor this year while saving the major design revamp for 2017.

Previously, KGI's Ming-Chi Kuo in an investment claimed that Apple may see 2016 iPhone shipments fall below 200 million units. He also said that the new iPhone, believed to be dubbed as iPhone 7, may see lower sales than the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

Recently, Apple also said that the iPhones have a life of three years and so does the Apple watch while AppleTV devices expire in four years. These numbers are in accord with Apple’s strategy of rolling out operating system updates to older devices and the hardware to replace older units.
