    Govt increases minimum export price of onions to check price hike

    Government has notified that export of all varieties of onions will be allowed only on Letter of Credit (LC) subject to a Minimum Export Price (MEP) of USD 850 F.O.B Metric Ton till further orders.

    Nehal Deepak Modi was born in Antwerp, Belgium and he knows languages such as English, Gujarati and Hindi, according to the RCN.

    Chinmayanand questioned by SIT, denies allegations

    Former Union Minister Swami Chinmayanand, accused of sexual misconduct by a law student, has been questioned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case.

    Late on Thursday, the SIT interrogated the BJP leader at the reserve police lines here in Uttar Pradesh. Chinmayanand was accompanied by his lawyer Om Singh.

    Earlier on Thursday, SIT had recorded the statement of SS Law College Principal Sanjay Kumar Baranwal and Secretary Avanish Misra.

    11 drown as boat capsizes during Ganesh idol immersion in Bhopal

    Eleven people drowned when the boat carrying them along with a Ganesh idol capsized in Lower Lake of Bhopal, police said on Friday.

    India's economic growth 'much weaker' than expected: IMF

    India's economic growth is "much weaker" than expected, the IMF said on Thursday, attributing the reasons to corporate and environmental regulatory uncertainty and lingering weaknesses in some non-bank financial companies.

    The International Monetary Fund (IMF) in July projected a slower growth rate for India in 2019 and 2020, a downward revision of 0.3 per cent for both the years, saying its GDP will now grow respectively at the rate of 7 and 7.2 per cent reflecting a weaker-than expected outlook for domestic demand.
