Shamli, UP: A group of miscreants belonging to a particular community on Saturday began firing indiscriminately at farmers working in a field near Phugana, but the situation was defused with the prompt intervention of army jawans and local authorities.
Residents of Phugana said, some of the fields of farmers were adjoining the fields of people belonging to the other community in Loi village. For the last several days, some miscreants from Loi had been damaging their tubewells, but the police did not take it seriously.
