New Delhi, April 4: Mahindra has launched three new variants, T-2, T-3 and T-4, to its 110cc commuter bike, Pantero, with prices starting at Rs 44,690 (ex-showroom, Chennai).




The T-2 variant is available with self start, alloy wheels and analogue instrument console whereas the T-3 has kick start, alloy wheels and analogue console. The base T-4 variant comes with kick start, spoke wheels and analogue console.
 
The Pantero comes under the commuter bike segment and is powered by an indigenously designed four-stroke, air-cooled, 106.7cc, horizontal set single-cylinder engine, named the MCI-5 (Micro Chip Ignited, 5-curves) by Mahindra. The Pantero generates 8.4 BHP at 7500rpm. The bike also has a high ground clearance of 165mm and a seat that measures 774mm in length.

Mahindra claims the Pantero delivers a mileage of 79.5kmpl but tests show that it is around 68.25kmpl. The Pantero completes the 0-60kph dash in 8.64 seconds, and going on to a true top speed of 91kph.  

The structure of the Pantero includes a tubular steel, twin-downtube frame, with telescopic fork front suspension and adjustable, hydraulic rear shocks. It is a good commuter bike that gives decent ride quality. It is easy to steer in the city.
