Services on the 11.6 km corridor, developed by Rapid Metro Rail Gurgaon Limited (RMGL) and Rapid Metro Rail Gurgaon South Limited (RMGSL), will continue to operate as per the normal time table as earlier.
In a major relief for nearly 60,000 commuters in Gurugram, the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday ruled that Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) would operate the Rapid Metro Rail from October 16.
"We have written to the Haryana government that the company could not run the service from September 9. We have urged it for takeover and are waiting for the reply," the spokesperson said.
Manohar Lal Khattar government has given a budgetary approval of Rs 6,000 crore and fixed a 2024 deadline for commissioning of the project.
The decision to extend the Gurugram Metro line was taken at a meeting of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) on Monday.
