New Delhi: After BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya's controversial tweets on Shah Rukh Khan, BJP MP Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said that “there is no difference between the languages of film actor Shah Rukh Khan and India's most wanted terrorist Hafiz Saeed.”

Hitting out at Shah Rukh two days after the actor added his voice to the protest by the intelligentsia against the 'climate of intolerance'; Adityanath also suggested that he go to Pakistan.

"We welcome that people go there (Pakistan), at least people who defame India will understand their own originality," he added.

Adityanath, the MP from Gorakhpur, said Shah Rukh should remember that if a "huge mass" of people in the country would boycott his films then he would also have to wander on streets like a "normal Muslim".

Slamming writers and artists for returning their awards, Adityanath said, “Under the garb of secularism, some writers and artists of leftist mindset have joined anti-national elements. They (writers and artists) are speaking the language of terror.”

"These voices are not anti-BJP but anti-national. Unfortunately, Shah Rukh Khan has also joined the bogey," Adityanath said.

This comes amid the reports that BJP brass has advised its leaders not to make any insensitive comment.

Earlier in the day, BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya retracted his tweets on Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and said that he was "misconstrued by some".

"My tweet was misconstrued by some. I didn't mean to hurt anyone. I retract my yesterday's tweets," Vijayvargiya said in a tweet on Wednesday.
Vijayvargiya is one of the party strategists for the Bihar Assembly elections.

“Today when the entire world is respecting India, talking about increase in intolerance makes the country weak in front of the world,” Vijayvargiya had on Tuesday said adding that when the entire world is respecting India, talking about increase in intolerance makes the country “weak” in front of the world.

The BJP leader also posed a question to Shah Rukh over blasts in Mumbai. “When hundreds of people died in the 1993 blast in Mumbai, then where was Shahrukh Khan. When Mumbai was attacked in 26/11 attacks, then where was Shahrukh Khan,” he added.

Earlier on Tuesday, Sadhvi Prachi, infamous for her inflammatory statements, said, Shah Rukh Khan is an agent of neighboring country Pakistan as he reflects their (Pakistan's) ideology. Such a man should go to Pakistan.”

These attacks on King Khan came a day after his 50th birthday when he spoke on the issue of 'rising intolerance' in India and supported writers and filmmakers returning their awards in protest.

Shah Rukh in an interview had said, “There is extreme intolerance, there is growing intolerance, people just put words in the air before even thinking about it. And here's a secular country…we keep talking about modern India, we keep talking about progressing, we keep talking about the new India, and we just keep talking.”

“I don't think if this country is not going to be secular… the youngsters are not going to stand for it. This is the only advice I can give at 50. Intolerance religiously, not being secular in this country, it is the worst kind of crime you can do as a patriot” he had said.
