Patna:  Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said he will seek the people's mandate on the basis of his work and not by using "jumlas" (euphemism) like the BJP, in an apparent dig at BJP president Amit Shah's remarks on black money issue.

"Others would go to the people taking help of 'jumla' to befool the people on the basis of false promises once again," Kumar told reporters here.

"We will seek votes on account of work done by the party and the government," he said.

Kumar and his secular alliance partners have been referring to Shah's comment on the Prime MinisterNarendra Modi's assertions during the general elections that if black money was brought back to the country, everybody would get Rs 15-20 lakh out of it, as a "jumla" (euphemism).

Kumar, who was speaking at the end of the Monsoon session of the Assembly, the last before polls, said despite its short duration, many works were achieved and many new legislations passed by both the Houses of Bihar Legislature.

Referring to passage of the Public Grievance Redressal legislation for time-bound redressal of people's complaints, he said, the government was prepared for discussion on any issue, but the opposition did not allow it.

"Opposition lost valuable time (by disrupting the House and not allowing discussions to take place)," he said.

Speaker Uday Narayan Choudhary today adjourned the Assembly sine die. The Legislative Council was also adjourned sine die after the day's proceedings.
