New Delhi: BJP leader Subramanian Swamy today questioned the party's decision to suspend Kirti Azad over the DDCA row, asking if "cricket affair was within the purview of party discipline" and declaring he would help the Darbhanga MP draft his reply to the show cause notice.

"Kirti issues are 1 -- is cricket affair within the purview of party discipline. 2 -- due to SC case on BCCI, is party decision amenable in court," Swamy said on twitter.

In another tweet, he said, "When I filed the NH (National Herald) case the CRT (Congress Tweeple) morons tweeted that it my vendetta. Now I am mentoring Kirti and they tweet it is a vendetta against AJ (Arun Jaitley).

Azad, on his return from Gujarat tonight, said he would call up the PMO seeking an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is now in Moscow and is scheduled to return tomorrow.

Swamy said he would help Azad draft his reply to the party over his suspension from its primary membership.

His tweets came as BJP veterans L K Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Shanta Kumar and Yashwant Sinha went into a huddle over developments in the party in the wake of Azad's suspension.

Azad has sought intervention of the 'margdarshak mandal', comprising Advani, Joshi, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh, which was formed by BJP president Amit Shah after he took over the party reins.

The four leaders, who had virtually revolted against the Modi-Shah team after BJP's drubbing in Bihar Assembly election last month, are learnt to have discussed the situation arising out of Azad's suspension.

Cracking down on Azad, BJP had yesterday suspended its MP, leading a campaign against Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who headed the Delhi and District Cricket Association for several years, over alleged corruption in it, charging him with indulging in anti-party activities and accusing him of "colluding" with Congress and AAP to bring it into "disrepute".
