The body was taken to his ancestral village Babhalgaon, where it will be kept at Dayanand School for people to pay their last respects.
After a condolence meeting in the afternoon, the funeral procession will be taken out and the last rites will be performed.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, BJP president Nitin Gadkari, MNS chief Raj Thackeray, Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde and other dignitaries are expected to attend the funeral, sources said.
