Panaji, Nov 2: BJP leader L K Advani, who does not spare any opportunity to criticise Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, today said he used to respect him when he was not prime minister.
“When he was not the Prime Minister, I used to respect him. Because then, there were no expectations from him,” he told a press conference here adding Singh served the late P V Narasimha Rao ably as finance minister.
Advani said initially when he used to call Singh a weak Prime Minister people used to object his statement.
“But now now everyone believes that he is a weak PM,” he added.
He also disagreed with the Prime Minister's statement that he used harsh words in his criticism saying “calling him a weak prime minister are not not harsh words”.
He claimed the government has “a lot to hide” and called for investigating the role of all senior functionaries of the government in these scams.
