New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister-in-waiting, Arvind Kejriwal, had hand-picked a special group to plan Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)'s on-the-ground strategy and campaign to ensure party wins the prestigious battle in Delhi.
It was in November last year when Kejriwal constituted the special team, Delhi Election Campaign Committee (DECC) for implementing the grand strategy for a do-or-die fight.
This cadre was the driving force behind party's thumping victory in Delhi Assembly polls where elections were held on February 7 with a voter turnout of 67.08 per cent. The party yesterday scripted a new chapter in the history of Indian politics by winning 95.71 per cent -- 67 out of 70 -- seats in the Delhi Assembly.
Let's have a look at the members of Kejriwal's powerful team that masterminded the entire campaign of AAP:
Pankaj Gupta
Gupa is in-charge of party's finances since the AAP was founded. A software professional, Gupta, was given the task of raising Rs 25 crore to fight Delhi polls.
Ashish Talwar
A former Congress leader, Talwar has intimate knowledge of every ward of capital. He was asked for creating ‘genuine' 40,000 volunteers.
Ashutosh, Dilip Pandey & Durgesh Pathak
The trio was responsible for responsible for monitoring the overall execution of party's on-ground campaign. From radio jingles to outdoor publicity to the door-to-door campaign, they played a vital role in communicating with the electorate.
Kumar Vishwas
Vishwas, a poet-turned-politician, was best at public meetings. He held at least two such meeting daily in run-up to elections.
Richa Pandey Mishra
Mishra joined the party last year. The social entrprenuer is the lone female member of the Delhi Election Campaign Committee. Mishra was responsible for assisting in booth management and functioning of party's frontal organisations including women's wing.
Sanjay Singh
Singh was an important part of party's candidate selection process for Delhi Assembly polls. In December 2013 polls, Singh had also played a crucial role in selecting the candidates.
Manish Sisodia & Gopal Rai
Sisodia and Rai are two well-known faces of the Aam Aadmi Party. The duo participated actively in party's campaign till election date.
Ashish Khetan
The journalist-turned-politician was the brain behind the ‘Delhi Dialogue' concept. This helped the party a lot in connecting with thousands of voters. He also contributed in preparing the AAP's manifesto.
Nagender Sharma & Deepak Bajpai
Sharma and Bajpai were responsible for managing party's media outreach. Both, former journalists, formulated party's stand on top news stories of the day and briefed medi by ensuring no one contradict each other.
Rakesh Sinha
Sinha, a retired bureaucrat, was dealing with all matters related to the Election Commission.
Praveen Deshmukh
The party created over a dozen frontal cells to deal with different sections of society. Deshmukh was in charge of these cells.
