New Delhi: Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia today alleged that BJP is trying to dethrone Delhi government led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal through Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung.
Sisodia said, "Kal BJP ne LG sahab ke zariye Delhi ki chunni hui sarkar ka takhtapalat karne ki koshish ki hai (Yesterday BJP tried to overthrow elected Delhi government through LG)."
He was commenting on the recent controversy over appointment of Shakuntala Gamlin as Delhi Chief Secretary by LG Najeeb Jung.
Kejriwal has alleged that that appointment was made without consulting Delhi government.
LG's office 'however' clarified he has constitutional authority to make such appointment.
Sisodia today said that LG has no authority to talk to any officer of Delhi government directly, let alone make appointments. He said that he can only contact them through ministers.
