New Delhi: In the wake of Maharashtra government rejecting a probe report on Adarsh scam, BJP today

said while Congress and its vice president Rahul Gandhi have tried to take credit for passage of anti-corruption Lokpal Bill they are protecting the guilty in the housing scandal.

Terming Rahul's reaction to the Lokpal Bill as "comical", Deputy Leader of BJP in Rajya Sabha Ravi Shankar Prasad said while the Congress leader claims credit for passage of the law on ombudsman, he had kept quiet when Anna Hazare was arrested by his government on the issue.

"Rahul Gandhi does not utter a word on the stinking corruption of his government whether it is the Adarsh scam, 2G scam or Coalgate or even the Commonwealth Games scandal but tries to jump outside the arena of establishment that I am the only one supporting this bill," he said.

The BJP leader insisted that this is "hypocrisy and double standards" of the Congress and the people of the country are aware of it. He maintained that the people will not give any credit to Congress despite such posturing.

Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley said the Adarsh scam involved a loot of public property by private persons.
