NASA scientists are all set to bring samples from the asteroid bennu and for this they are launching a spacecraft, OSIRIS-REx on September 8.

As per reports, scientists at NASA are working along with the researchers at University of Arizona for this project.

OSIRIS-Rex is a 14 year long mission and as per data, the US Space agency NASA has spent $800 million  for accomplishment of this project.

The  OSIRIS-REx  spacecraft will be launched from the United Launch Alliance Atlas 5 rocket which comes in the unique 411 configurations.

Scientists are doing their best and are finding every detail to the core.

According to NASA scientists, the initial power of OSIRIS-REx will be checked by the scientists this week and the most critical electrical checkouts of the vehicle known as Combined Systems Test will be done on August 15

To note, scientists have only a month's time to review the spacecraft before its launch.

Once NASA OSIRIS-REx spacecraft  reaches the asteroid Bennu, it will start collecting samples and important details about it.

The spacecraft will come back after completing its 7-year roundtrip voyage.

Not only it will bring the details, but also let the scientists know more about the origin of the solar system.

As for now, it is expected that the near-Earth asteroid Bennu could destroy the surface of the Earth in the 22nd century.
