Jammu: Scores of Jammu and Kashmir government employees, under the banner of SGEJAC, yesterday held a demonstration to protest the alleged failure of the government to fulfil their demands including enhancement of retirement age.

The employees, led by State Government Employees Joint Action Committee (SGEJAC) leader Sushil Sudan, gathered at Press Club Jammu here and raised slogans against the government for not fulfilling their demands.

Sudan criticised the government "for inviting only selected leaders for talks and ignoring other stakeholders."

"We warn the government against such misadventures, which are likely to create further confusion among the employees," he added.

They declared that a similar demonstration will be held at Press Enclave in Srinagar under the banner of SGEJAC on September 26 and next course of action will be taken after meeting of state level leaders after September 28, Sudan said.

The employees' demands include regularisation of all daily, adhoc and consolidated employees, removal of pay anomalies, payment of balance arrears in cash, budgetary support to PSUs, release of DA instalments, qualifying service at par with the centre, increase in medical allowance to Rs 1,000.
