Hearing a PIL seeking the setting up of a special investigation team and monitoring of the probe by the high court, a division bench of Chief Justice Arun Mishra and Justice Joymalyo Bagchi directed the state to submit the ATR in the gruesome incident at Kamduni village in Barasat.

The bench had earlier directed the state government to file an affidavit within seven days stating what steps it had taken to bring the perpetrators of the crime to justice, but adjourned the date till July four on a prayer by the state government.

The matter would come up for hearing on July four, the court directed.
