Patna, Apr 17: Zafar Alam, deputy chief operations manager of Railways posted in Hajipur, on Monday stopped his car on Mahatma Gandhi Sethu here and jumped into the river Ganga.
Zafar Alam was returning from Patna to Hajipur when he suddenly stopped his vehicle and jumped from the bridge.
Boatmen rescued him from the swirling river, and Zafar Alam was admitted to NMCH hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
Police is trying to ascertain the cause of this suicide attempt.
