Thane, Oct 3 :In the backdrop of Shiv Sena taking a dig at BJP over Advani-Narendra Modi ‘cold war', the Maharashtra state BJP unit chief has observed that BalThackeray and party executive president Uddhav Thackeray should restrict themselves to giving suggestions and not criticise others.

“Those who cannot do anything only resort to criticism,” state unit BJP president Sudhir Mungattiwar said here. The remarks came in the background of Bal Thackeray's comments that appeared in the editorial in party mouthpiece ‘Saamna' amid reports of the recently concluded BJP national executive meet being overshadowed by a cold war between the party's two big guns - L K Advani and Narendra Modi- with the latter conspicuous by his absence.

The editorial stated that triphala churn” (anayurvedic mix of three herbs used to detoxify and rejuvenatethe body) concocted by the RSS, Gadkari and Advani istroubling the Gujarat chief minister.

Asserting that the Shiv Sena, BJP and RPI alliance is unbreakable and there is no scope for any “fourth” party to chip in ahead of the civic polls, Mungattiwar said “even though there were differences of opinion among the leaders of BJP and Shiv Sena over seat distribution they (leaders) do not have any authority to break the alliance. It is only the state unit which has to take decision on such crucial issues”.

He was speaking on the sidelines of a day-long symposium “Vision 2020-Thane” organised by the Thane unit of the BJP last evening here.Rebutting NCP chief Sharad Pawar's statement that the
proposed rathyatra by L K Advani will be a “silent” one,Mungattiwar said “it is pity that the NCP chief Sharad Pawar does not know anything about the rathyatra of Advani”.

Mungattiwar further said the first round of talks over distribution of tickets for nearly 13,000 seats for elections to 195 municipal councils, 10 municipal corporations and 27Zilla Parishads will begin after Dussehra festival.

The civic polls are slated in the last leg of the year.He declared that the BJP will from October 8 undertake a state-wide movement titled “Ghar Chalo Abhiyan”(door-to-door campaign) during which the BJP activists, leaders, and elected representatives will visit each household and explain people about the party's stand.

Mungattiwar further said the Thane Municipal Corporation should adopt scientific method for construction of roads.

In reply to another question he said monopoly of the independents will come to end following the panel system of division of wards. The state unit chief further said BJP will raise the
issue of the new act which bestows more powers to civic commissioner that will encroach upon the powers of elected representatives. PTI
