Los Angeles: Lionsgate, distributor of upcoming film “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1”, has launced a web series in collaboration with Google to promote the third installment of the franchise.
YouTube creators, including Rob Czar and Corinne Leigh, Derek Muller, Jimmy Wong and Ashley Adams of the Feast of Fiction YouTube channel, will create the fictional world called Panem in the five-episode series titled "District Voices", reports hollywoodreporter.com.
"We cannot think of a better partner than these incredible YouTube stars, who truly bring new content to life in the world of Panem and extend our storytelling to online audiences in exciting new directions," Lionsgate executive vice-president of digital marketing, Danielle De Palma said in a statement.
The streaming of episodes started Monday on the movie's Capitol TV website and the YouTube channel for "The Hunger Games” franchise.
The "District Voices" promotion is part of Art, Copy & Code, a Google project series that enables brands to connect with consumers through interactive entertainment.
The film, directed by Francis Lawrence, also stars Jennifer Lawrence and Julianne Moore.
