But fasting during Navaratri could be taxing and can leave you with lack of stamina and low blood sugar levels. And just in case you are expecting a baby or are a bit old then, no body will even let you think about fasting and that too for the entire 9-day period.

Being a bit old in age, it's quite taxing to fast during this period. As the body doesn't allow, one to keep up with the new schedule easily. Most of the women who stay at home tend to ignore their health and eating habits. But it is always important to consider your health, because fasts are only meant to cleanse your body, mind and soul. It could be way of thanking God but ignoring health is never the right option. Since old age brings health issues with so before going for any fasting ritual, one should always consider the doctor and should go ahead only after a proper consultation.

In an average Indian household fasting is never an option for pregnant ladies. Eat fresh fruits, curd and edibles to energise your body and keep fatigue and anaemia at bay. Eating small meals after every two hours is the golden rule, which should be followed rigorously. Don't gorge on potatoes and snack on healthy stuff instead.
