It seems nearly impossible for a person of whatsoever age to remain indoors specially when Holi's round the corner!Holi is the most awaited festival celebration in India. Families start preparations for this festival weeks before, and many of us get busy to celebrate this festival of colours with our loved ones.While chalking out notorious plans to drench our friends and family in the riot of colors, we end up ignoring the most important thing, our skin and hair. Though we make immense effort to make sure to keep our skin and hair healthy and beautiful but all fails due to excessive use of colours and chemicals.Colours used in Holi are prepared using highly damaging toxins, and chemicals that are extremely harmful to hairs and skin which later lead to skin issue and excessive hair fall.Here are some quick tips to care and manage your hairs-skin so that you can play Holi without any worries.Opt for colours that are natural and skin-friendly, instead of using powdered dyes and synthetic colors that do severe damages later on.Before heading out with your friends mix a portion of oil and moisturiser and apply evenly to all parts of your body and do not restrict it to face and bare arms.Massaging your hair with oil is definitely needed but adding half-a-spoon of lemon juice could actually prevent toxic and dyes to damage your hairs. Best would be to avoid direct contact of skin or hair to such colours, for this you can easily wrap a bandana around your head.Do not go in for any facial treatment prior to celebrations as the newly absorbed enzymes by your face could come in contact with harmful chemical contents present in Holi colours and result in damaging your skin.To avoid chipped lips and exposure to chemicals, apply a thick coat of lip balm or olive oil over your lips. This would prevent the color to do any damages to your sensitive skin.Best option would be to choose long sleeved T-shirts and full lengths pants. This would avoid chemicals to come in direct contact with your skin.Once you are done with full day enjoyment of playing Holi with friends and family, avoid sitting under the sun directly. People after playing with water and colors often tend to relax a bit and savour the dishes and for that they just sit back and relax under the sun.Sitting directly under the sun may lead to permanent damages to your skin.Generally after Holi, you can see the traces of colors under your toe nails and nails. So to avoid that polish your nails with bright colors like, Red, Blue or even Black, this would avoid settling of Holi colors.
