Veteran actor Shashi Kapoor passed away on Monday leaving behind an unmatched legacy to be followed. His death came as a big shock to Bollywood stars as well as to movie buffs. He has been given a State Funeral and many Bollywood stars attended the cremation which had a three-gun salute to the actor. 

The sixth edition of Delhi International Film Festival (DIFF) paid homage to the legendry actor. Big B shared an emotional post for the star, with whom he has worked in many films. He also revealed that Shashi used to call him ‘babbua’.

Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, who was also shooting for a film, cancelled the shoot and rushed to attend the funeral of his uncle.

After the news of Shashi demise came, Amitabh Bachchan along with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan rushed to the Shashi’s residence. Kareena Kapoor along with her husband Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji and filmmaker Boney Kapoor, many celebs were spotted outside the late actor's house.

From Prime Minister Narendra Modi to various B-town celebs, condolences were poured in on Twitter after his death. Well, it goes without saying that the Hindi cinema has lost his precious gem and with Shashi’s demise, it is the end of an era.

 Shashi started his acting career as a child artist in the 1940s and his 1961 debut film "Dharmputra" as an adult catapulted him to fame. He then appeared in many blockbuster films and also ventured to into direction. Nobody in the industry can take his place.
