Race 3 might be opening to tepid response from audience and critics, but the box office numbers of the Salman Khan-starrer suggest that it’s already a superhit. It’s the highest opening film of the year, beating Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 2. Eid festivities and no other Bollywood release in the week can also be credited for the massive opening day collection of Race 3. It earns Rs 29 crore on its day 1 at the Indian box office. Race 3’s release has certainly affected the biz of other Bollywood movies like Veere Di Wedding and Parmanu, which were otherwise going unbridled at the BO. Let’s have a look how this action-thriller film has diminished the BO performance of other Bollywood films which have released lately.
Taran Adarsh, the film critic analysed the box office business for the movie, tweeting, "#VeereDiWedding has a strong Week 2... North India circuits have performed extremely well... [Week 2] Fri 3.37 cr, Sat 4.51 cr, Sun 4.84 cr, Mon 2.03 cr, Tue 1.97 cr, Wed 1.85 cr, Thu 1.60 cr. Total: ? 77.13 cr. India biz."
"#Parmanu maintains the grip in Week 3... Biz on weekdays in particular remained consistent... [Week 3] Fri 93 lakhs, Sat 1.52 cr, Sun 1.74 cr, Mon 77 lakhs, Tue 81 lakhs, Wed 64 lakhs, Thu 62 lakhs. Total: ? 58.86 cr. India biz."
#Parmanu biz at a glance...— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) June 15, 2018
Week 1: ₹ 35.41 cr
Week 2: ₹ 16.42 cr
Week 3: ₹ 7.03 cr
Total: ₹ 58.86 cr
The opening day collection of Salman Khan starrer 'Race 3' has eclipsed the box office collection of other movies making the business slow.
#Raazi is steady, despite limited screens/shows and constant flow of new releases... [Week 5] Fri 45 lakhs, Sat 80 lakhs, Sun 90 lakhs, Mon 32 lakhs, Tue 32 lakhs, Wed 32 lakhs, Thu 32 lakhs. Total: ₹ 121.22 cr. India biz.— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) June 15, 2018
'Race 3' is a stand-alone sequel to the hit franchise 'Race'. With the third installment, Salman has replaced Saif Ali Khan who played the lead in first two films. Starring an ensemble cast of Salman, Jacqueline, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Freddy Daruwala, Saqib Saleem, and Daisy Shah, the flick is directed by Remo D'souza.
The film, which hit the theatres on June 15, is produced by Salman Khan Films and Ramesh Taurani under the banner of Tips Films.
