On the other hand, Bhumi Pednekar, who will play Chandro in the film, shared a photograph of herself along with Taapsee and the film's director Tushar Hiranandani. "Some goodbyes are so tough," she wrote. She shared another image of herself in which she is seen hiding her face. She captioned it: "Name-Chandro Tomar. Age 65 years. Profession-Mother, Grandmother and Sharp Shooter. She will always and forever be a part of me."
Chandro, 87, and Prakashi, 82, are from Uttar Pradesh's Johri village and reportedly took up sharpshooting in their fifties. Chandro, who is fondly called shooter 'dadi', is among the world's oldest female sharpshooters. The Reliance Entertainment film will mark writer Hiranandani's debut as a director. It will also be jointly produced by Anurag Kashyap and Nidhi Parmar.
Talking about the film, Taapsee said earlier, “I and Bhumi used to hold each other’s hand and say that Let’s hope we are able to get through this one day. It is extremely challenging physically to perform it.” Taapsee further revealed that she usually connects her characters with any one of her personality traits or from her personal life which makes it easier for her to perform, however, for Saand Ki Aankh, the actress was blank when it came to her performance. Taapsee claims that the biggest challenge for her until now is that ‘out of nothing, she has to create this character.”
"Saand Ki Aankh" also features Prakash Jha and Vicky Kadian in pivotal roles.
