AAP in Punjab to name 4-5 candidates for Lok Sabha elections 2019

Lok Sabha elections 2019: In Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will declare the names of four-five candidates next month for the Lok Sabha elections 2019.

The 22-member core committee of the AAP, on Tuesday, took this decision.

"We have decided that names of at least four to five candidates will be announced next month for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections," AAP MLA and Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly Harpal Singh Cheema said in Chandigarh, reported news agency PTI.

The AAP leadership in Delhi, earlier this month, had asked Punjab MLAs to start looking for potential candidates for the upcoming general elections. Lawmakers were asked to find candidates with good character and clean image.

In Punjab, the AAP, in 2014, had won four out of the 13 Lok Sabha seats.

Lok Sabha elections 2019 is slated to take place in the months of April-May.
