New Delhi, May 14: Giving a more premium feel to its Lumia range of smartphones, Nokia has Nokia unveiled a lighter, metal model in its Lumia smartphone range, called the Lumia 925.
The 925 carries the same Lumia design philosophy, with the same angular designs, enclosed in a beautiful metal frame.
The stand out feature of 925 is the 8.7 megapixel PureView camera that will give some sensational images which you can view back on the 4.5” AMOLED display. The camera also has Optical Image Stabilization, Autofocus, short pulse high power dual LED flash.
The camera uses a Carl Zeiss optics and PureView technology to give great shots even in low lights.
The phone weighs 139 grams, compared with 185 grams for the earlier 920 model, which some critics had said was too heavy. However, there is not much change in terms of specs. It has 4.5-inch screen with AMOLED display with 1280×768 pixels resolution. It has a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, and 16GB storage space. The Lumia 920 also has a 4.5-inch screen with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor.
Nokia also announced Hipstamatic's new app, Oggl, will arrive on Nokia Lumia smartphones, allowing people to take and share high quality pictures with like-minded creatives and photography enthusiasts. In addition to sharing photos on Oggl, users can simultaneously share photos on social networks including Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Tumblr, Flickr and Instagram.
The 925 also comes with the new 'Nokia Smart Camera mode', which is an update to all Lumia Windows Phone 8 smartphones. Nokia Smart Camera is meant to offer a way to capture ten images at once.
At the same time, a wireless charging cover can be clipped onto the back of the phone to take advantage of Nokia's extensive wireless charging accessories and ecosystem. Covers, sold separately, come in white, black, yellow, and red.
The device comes loaded with Nokia services, such as the HERE suite of integrated location and navigation services and Nokia Music for unlimited streaming of free music playlists,
The Nokia Lumia 925 is being introduced into Europe with Vodafone, along with other operator and retail partners.
In addition to Europe, the Nokia Lumia 925 will be introduced into the US by T-Mobile and into China by China Mobile and China Unicom. Sales are expected to start in the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain and China in June, followed by the US and a number of other markets.
