New Delhi: Reliance Communications, the flagship company of the diversified business conglomerate Reliance Group, has announced a 'best value plan' for GSM prepaid customers in Tamil Nadu.

The 'best value plan' would enable customers to call any local Reliance numbers at 5 paise for 15 seconds and other local calls would be at just 5 paise per 10 seconds. All STD calls would be 5 paise for 7 seconds, a company release said.

Customers would get full talk time on recharges of Rs. 50 and above. The pack also offers 99 SMSes free per day, it said.

"We are always looking to introduce the best in class products and services for our customers. Every Reliance GSM subscriber can now enjoy the best local and STD call rates along with uninterrupted data and free SMS services across networks in Tamil Nadu", Reliance Communications's South Regional Head, I V J Pradeep said.

To avail the services, existing customers should recharge an amount of Rs. 107 to any local Reliance numbers at 5 paise for 15 seconds and other local calls would be at just 5 paise per 10 seconds. This benefit would be for a period of 120 days from the date of activation, the release said.

Earlier this month, Reliance Communications had announced it will reduce its workforce by up to 5,500 employees from BPO and shared services operations as it tries to trim its debt. The country's fourth-largest telecom operator is on a cost optimisation drive through outsourcing of network management services and call centre operations.
