Maharashtra man poisons his three children, then dies by suicide over domestic dispute; kids critical

He was under severe mental stress following a domestic dispute with his wife, who had left him to stay with her parents.

Solapur (Maharashtra) :

A 34-year-old security guard allegedly poisoned his three minor children before taking his own life in Solapur district of Maharashtra, police said on Thursday. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon at Tirhe village in the district. 

The deceased has been identified as Bhima Anna Waghmare, who worked as a security guard at a cement company. 

Kids in critical condition 

The children were admitted to a government hospital in Solapur, where they remain in critical condition in the ICU, officials said.

According to police, he was under significant mental stress following a domestic dispute, as his wife had left him and was staying with her parents. Despite attempts by relatives to resolve the issue, she reportedly refused to return.

As per preliminary reports, Waghmare took his children to a farm located near Valsang, where he allegedly gave them poison before consuming it himself, the official said.

Police said the children are still undergoing treatment, and further investigation into the case is ongoing.

Man kills wife and two children, dies by suicide later

On March 31, a 32-year-old man reportedly killed his wife and their two young children before taking his own life at their home in Muzaffarnagar’s Sarwat, police said. The victims have been identified as Irshad (32), his wife Noreen (30), their two-year-old son Ahil, and their two-month-old daughter Aksha. Police said all four bodies were sent for postmortem examination.

Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar said that initial enquiries suggest the incident followed a domestic disagreement. Relatives told authorities that the couple had argued over an Eid gift intended for Irshad’s sister, Shaheen.

Software engineer dies by suicide after dispute with mother-in-law

In another shocking incident, a 35-year-old software engineer allegedly died by suicide following a domestic dispute at her residence in Abbigere, near the Soladevanahalli Police Lines in Bengaluru, Karnataka, police said on Wednesday. Authorities have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances leading up to the incident. The deceased was identified as Sushma (35), who was previously employed with Dell. She had married Puneet Kumar five years ago, and the couple has a four-year-old son, police said.

According to police, the household had been witnessing frequent arguments over minor issues. On Tuesday, Sushma allegedly had a dispute with her mother-in-law, Kalpana, over cooking food.

Sushma's family has alleged that her mother-in-law repeatedly prevented her from cooking and subjected her to harassment on various issues. Distressed by the ongoing situation, Sushma allegedly took her own life by hanging, police said.
